What Is Right and What is Wrong
We like free music.
We like the artists.
Now what? They own the work, we don't. Is it fair for us to make the decision for them?
What is blogging all about?
Why put up a blog with a few 100 albums easy to find in a store?
Is it to put the stores out of business?
What is the reason for blogging?
Should artists accept that digital copying and Sharebee means that they can't make money on recordings and should only hope to make money on concerts?
What if they aren't the type of musician that does live concerts?
Who should report files? Nobody? Anybody?
Who should be putting albums onto blogs in the first place?
Some artists don't care and most do. What do we do?
Artists want to make money from their recordings.
Bloggers want to give the music away and they say the RIAA sucks.
What is the solution?
Do we keep fighting with each other or do we find a solution?
Is the solution to curse trolls and go after the RIAA and scorn musicians? Is anyone really BAD on either side of this issue?
It is too easy to paint the other side as an enemy that won't listen. Or is it?
You can't fault artists for asking people to report illegal files. You can't fault fans for wanting as much free music as they can get, and for thinking a little downloading isn't hurting. Or can you fault both?
This is an open blog. Make comments. Going along the way we all are is not productive.
